These images come from our large collection of Hubbard flowers. Born in the English city or Birmingham, Charles Edward Hubbard dedicated his life to studying natural history by intent to illustrate every flower that came from the ground. At 18, he went to work in the industrial factories, causing him to develop bronchitis and become homebound by his early 30’s. At this time, Hubbard began his work on thousands carefully drawn and catalogued studies.
