While visiting a town in France bordering with Germany and Switzerland, Christopher discovered the original piece that inspired this design. So many of the early textile designs came from this part of the world. This image was pulled from a vintage reference design book full of other beautiful textile design inspirations. After lying dormant for over 75 years, the book was picked up by Christopher, observed differently, and has been taken back to our Los Angeles studios where it has begun its second life!

The original design was reworked to become a rolling wave image. Our application artists then add silver leaf by hand to all the crests, adding a new movement to the piece.
